In our “Year of Charity,” I am exploring the different aspects of charity as mentioned in 1 Corinthians 13. What does it mean to say that charity hopes all things? Here are some things I’d like to think about:
- How is faith different from hope?
- Where should our hope be centered?
- What does hope have to do with love?
I feel like we live in very trying times. We are still dealing with a terrible pandemic, inflation is soaring, shortages are looming on the horizon, crime is rising, horrible things are happening to women and children in Afghanistan, refugees are searching for places of safety, homes and families are being torn apart. Where is hope? Why did Paul link hope with charity? Please join me in thinking on these questions this month. We’ll see you back here on Nov. 29 to discuss.
